About Brissa Arana


Brissa is a Mexican-American Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Artist, Communicator, Social Activist and Health Educator. She works as a psychotherapist providing integrative therapy, including clinical hypnotherapy, expressive arts therapy, and forensic services (mental health evaluations for immigration processes) to individuals and families, helping them overcome the stigma of mental illness and achieve an overall fulfillment in their daily lives. Brissa volunteered to assist UNLV's active shooting survivors, directing and conducting a free-of-charge Bilingual Emotional Support Group from December 2023 - May 2024, offering critical incident stress debriefing, emotional processing, behavior management, trauma-informed expressive arts therapy, suicide prevention awareness, and mindfulness training.In addition to her work as a clinician, Brissa collaborates with various levels of government and other nonprofit organizations providing assistance with planning and designing of special events, projects, and workshops for staff and patrons in the areas of Mental Health Awareness, Individual & Family Development, Empowerment, Emotional Intelligence, Youth Mentorship Programs, and Parenting Skills Training.Brissa serves the Executive Director of a local 501(c)(3) organization called Promotor@s Las Vegas (PLV), with the main purpose of empowering minorities making health education and preventive health programs accessible to the underinsured, underserved communities since 2022; and in April 2024, Brissa was voted as a Board Member for Women of Diversity Productions Inc (WOD), a Nevadan nonprofit dedicated to bring visibility to women, their achievements, and their contribution to society creating a woman-appreciated future. Conversely, Brissa is a volunteer Advisory Board member for The Sandy Peltyn Foundation, a nonprofit organization who provides scholarships for minorities in health care schools; and forms part of an initiative called "the Mentes Brillantes Project," a program dedicated to provide psychoeducation and resources in Spanish to parents of children with learning disabilities in collaboration with the nonprofits Community Services of Nevada (CSNV) and UniodsUS. Brissa participates every Monday in "Despierta Al Dia with Univision," a local Spanish News TV Show as a communicator in their Mental Health Awareness segment.
